EMI/EMC Engineer

About the role

In the frame of its product development (Energy Storage System), we are hiring an EMI/EMC Engineer.

Within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of electronic and electrical systems with Electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standard. You will be part of Part-21J Design Organization (DO).

Specifically, you will be responsible to:

  • Develop and implement EMI/EMC test plans, procedures, and protocols for aerospace applications.
  • Conduct EMI/EMC testing (Anechoic Chamber, Spectrum Analyzer, probe measurement) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464).
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot EMI/EMC issues, and provide detailed reports (Shielding, Filtering, Grounding, Bonding,…)
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to incorporate EMI/EMC mitigation techniques in product development.
  • Write design documentation: EMI/EMC analysis reports, compliance matrices, and test reports.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation throughout the entire process.
  • Manage all EMI/EMC data under your responsibility according to our DO-254 development methodologies and configuration management rules.
  • Stay updated on the latest EMI/EMC standards, regulations, and testing methodologies.
  • Participate in product design reviews to ensure EMI/EMC considerations are integrated from the outset.
  • Provide training and support to engineering teams on EMI/EMC best practices (design, troubleshooting, testing, …).
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC at aircraft level, system level and item level apply to aerospace is a plus.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in EMI/EMC testing and compliance, preferably in high-reliability and/or safety-critical industries (aerospace, automotive, medical, or industrial).
  • Proactive and team player attitude is key to success.
  • Good knowledge of:
  • EMI/EMC standards (e.g., CISPR, FCC, IEC, DO-160, MIL-STD-461)
  • EMI/ESD/EFT protection and filtering techniques
  • Mixed analog/digital circuit design, power supply (DC/DC), and circuit simulation tools (e.g., Simetrix, Spice)
  • Proficiency in Schematics entry and circuit board layout (e.g., Altium Designer).
  • Experience with PCB IPC standards.
  • Aerospace/aviation process and standard knowledge is a plus (under EASA/FAA CS-23 or equivalent).
  • Notions in Thermal Engineering (cooling) and Mechanical Engineering (enclosure) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Matlab and Altium use is a plus.
  • Experience in environmental testing (temperature, vibration, EMI/EMC, DO-160) and aviation development assurance standards (DO-254) is a plus.
  • Fast learner, rigorous, with analytic problem-solving capabilities and ability to properly document.
  • Well-organized, capacity to prioritize & pro-active (start-up mindset)
  • Fluency in English, French is a strong asset.
